4th May 2016. I remember this night so vividly. 2nd year of university. 3am. In bed. Lights out. Suddenly the ceiling became nice to look at. You know you’ve messed up your sleeping pattern when the birds start chirping right?
My mental state was in jeopardy, so I did what I normally did. Went straight into the notes app and jotted down everything I was feeling. Sentences turned into paragraphs and paragraphs turned into pages.
I still don’t know what made me open my laptop and create a WordPress account but here we are, flourishing and thriving and I couldn’t be happier.
I started out writing about my confidence journey which quickly escalated to general life experiences, documenting my travels and setting up an exciting brains and beauty project featuring some of the most talented female creatives.
Blogging has been such a journey for me, and my love for it has increased pretty dramatically over these past 2 years. 2016 was the year of finding myself and finding my voice. I have enjoyed every minute of sharing my stories and experiences and I love the fact that others are able to relate.
I’ve met the most amazing people through blogging via social media and networking events and it’s crazy how much support you can get from complete strangers!
I couldn’t tell you what I would’ve been doing outside of my academic bracket if my life depended on it.
All of a sudden, the ‘what are your interests and hobbies?’ question became exciting to answer and the ‘what are you passionate about?’ question no longer made me feel nauseous.
I am super grateful for all the continuous love and support I have received since launching lifeofberns and I’m so excited to see what the future has in store for it.
So here’s to 2 years of self development, growth, creativity and many more years to follow.
