Class of 2018 / Where have I been?

Class of 2018 / Where have I been?

Hey guys!

Let me begin this post on a positive note. University is over forever, ya girl survived, and on 16th July, I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration (Marketing) with a year in industry with Honours! The feeling was so surreal and it’s crazy that this day finally arrived from what seemed like a never ending 4 years, despite each term passing by in a blink of an eye!

I’m so grateful to God for getting me through this 4 year roller-coaster, my family and friends who have been my biggest support system, the amazing team at FRAME for giving me the best placement year experience and to myself, for never giving up and bouncing back after every single setback. So here’s to new beginnings and more success! 👩🏾‍🎓✨

I feel like I’ve taken the longest break ever from blogging and it hasn’t been an easy one either. So in case you were wondering, I hadn’t been relaxing with my feet up on a hammock in Bali 😅

I’ll call this one self reflection.

During the last few weeks of my final year, I had so many plans for my blog over the summer. I’d literally make lists and add to it everyday. My face would even light up like a toddler in a toy store.

Please tell me why this is the only post I’ve made since then?

Life happens, and the demotivation that comes with it is like a slap in the face. You begin to compare your journey to others and you start focusing too much on numbers rather than just getting the content out there. You’d catch yourself saying things like maybe I should go back to bed and leave the writing till I feel more inspired.

……Then realize you’ve said that everyday for the past month or two.

It’s overwhelming if I do say so myself.

It’s safe to say I’ve learnt the art of patience and slaying in my own lane. ‘There’s a time for everything’ is one thing I heard the most growing up and my understanding of it has grown immensely. It’s not easy being a creative and having to deal with your mental health behind closed doors because everybody expects you to stay consistent and when you can’t because of x y and z it’s like, is this girl even serious about her craft?

But I can assure you she is ❤️
